Chapter 01

Food

Q: Favorite restaurants?

A: For a venue, the Logan Inn. For casual, Burgerly (caution: you will get a large amount of fries). Super close by in Carversville, Thyme & Plate makes the best sandwiches of my life. Our go-to dishes are the Milanese, That Brisket Jawn, and the B.B.L.T.

Q: Best pizza?

A: Spatola's.

Q: Best coffee?

A: Vanilla Cafe. A new find, and I quickly fell in love.

Q: Cheap eats under $15?

A: Thyme & Plate and Burgerly again.

Q: Best treat after dinner?

A: The Rita's by Peddler's Village, because some of us get Rita's, others get Cinnabon or Auntie Anne's, and we all share.

Q: Where do you get groceries?

A: I do love going to Soulberry Market and checking out what's on sale and local. Spring Creek Farm is a go-to for local food and to visit the farm. And I appreciate the convenience of grocery delivery from Whole Foods in Doylestown.

Q: Best brewery or winery?

A: New Hope Winery.

Q: Kid-friendly dinner?

A: Buttonwood Grill has been a good spot to go as a family.

Chapter 02

Kids and family

Q: Best playgrounds?

A: Laurel Park, because we participate in baseball. It's modest, but you can do the playground and you can also get scooters or bikes. The Lower Elementary playground is awesome.

Q: Favorite indoor activity?

A: The New Hope library.

Q: Favorite pool?

A: The grandparents' house. Otherwise, the YMCA in Doylestown.

Q: Best birthday party venue?

A: Giggleberry Fair.

Q: Favorite summer camp?

A: We love Windmill in Doylestown. It's worth the extra drive.

Q: Kids' sports and activities?

A: Solebury Rec sports.

Chapter 03

Things to do

Q: Most weekends?

A: Walks and bike or scooter rides.

Q: Hidden gem?

A: Cuttalossa Road.

Q: Live entertainment?

A: I do like the latest live performances at the Logan Inn.

Q: Main Street shopping?

A: Love Saves the Day for vintage and fun goodies to browse, and Farley's Bookshop.

Q: Farmers or flea markets?

A: Rice's. Tuesday and Saturday mornings.

Q: With out-of-town visitors?

A: Peddler's Village.

Q: Day trips?

A: Philadelphia and Princeton. Both are within 45 minutes.

Chapter 04

A perfect Saturday

Q: Morning?

A: Rice's Market to walk around and get a pastry, a little shopping, then the New Hope library.

Q: Afternoon?

A: Burgerly for lunch, fruit picking at Solebury Orchards, and a walk to Grandma's house for a swim.

Q: Evening?

A: The kids stay with the grandparents while we have a date dinner at the Black Bass. We pick them up after dinner and enjoy a family movie to close out the day.

Chapter 05

Outdoors

Q: Parks and trails?

A: Cuttalossa. Very low traffic, clean water, a tunnel of trees, and historic homes along the walk. Locals treat the road as a walking trail.

Q: Bike rides?

A: Honestly, any direction in New Hope and Solebury.

Q: Dog walks?

A: Laurel Park.

Q: Best sunset?

A: The Black Bass.

Chapter 06

Insider

Q: One thing only a local would know?

A: Partway across the bridge to Lambertville, the state line is marked on the walkway railing. Stand there and you're in two states at once.

Q: Celebrity fact?

A: Bradley Cooper lives here.

Q: Overrated?

A: Driving to Main Street on a weekend afternoon. Save it for a weekday.

Q: Underrated?

A: New Hope has a love of culture and fun on Main Street, but I think we forget it is a major hub for trails.

Q: New Hope vs its neighbors?

A: How protective New Hope and Solebury are about zoning and what can be built, to preserve the feel and history of the area.

Chapter 07

New in town

Q: How would you meet people here?

A: Meet ups and art events.

Q: Groups worth joining?

A: The New Hope and Lambertville community group on Facebook.

Q: Gym?

A: Cornerstone.

Chapter 08

Thinking about moving here?

Q: Where to start?

A: New Hope and Solebury share the New Hope-Solebury School District. Homes for sale: New Hope and Solebury Township.
